Hobbies in March

 Hi guys.

Hope you all are in great condition.

Here in my place the situation is getting better. With RMCO in place, the Covid numbers is steadily decreasing, giving us much hope.

However, the battle is yet to end. Be vigilant, always keep clean, maintain your social distancing and wear mask outdoor. Keep safe.

So, I'm still kind of busy with the real life stuff. As my workplace have been relocated to new premise, we have our hands full to setting up production line, so not much free time as previously.

Nevertheless, this month I have received my purchase, that is a neoprene playmat & Takenoko boardgame. I've purchased the playmat for quite sometime before but due to the MCO restriction, the seller can only deliver to me in these past weeks. About the Takenoko, I won a bidding online for a BNIS defect set...which is pretty minor to me. I managed to get it at a cheaper price due to the defect.

So like any other tabletop gamer do, I immediately done a initiation ritual on the newly bought playmat (wink wink). I set up a 50points TANK game for me, my wife and son to play. The battle was in a forest fought between US (wifey), Soviet (son) and German (me). Just a casual game between family members (another wink wink). I won after being assaulted left right by the wife & son. German won!!!

The neoprene playmat is awesome to have. Not only it eliminate the tumbling sound when the dice rolled on the table, the surface is soft and nice contrast to the hard wood texture of the table body. It also make the table 'pop' more and feels expensive. Worth every penny spent on the purchase. I'm looking forward to play more using the playmat.

Bonus photos: 2 of my kids spending time playing with dice and Marvel United minis while their parent and older brother kicks butt.

That's all for now.

Until then.

Stay safe everyone.

Tank battle & boardgames

 Hi guys.

Hope all of you are well.

Here in my place we are currently under 2nd lockdown (not so strict like previous ones), so it is quite a hassle. My workplace also is relocating to a bigger place, so real life is hectic right now.

Nevertheless, the Nurglings is clocking intense overtime here. We have a record high Covid-19 number yesterday, and pray to God Emperor it WILL get worse in coming days. So, please take care of your hygiene, wear mask and use hand sanitizer, and keep your social distance while outside, etc.

Okay, let's move on.

1) TANK game

First game of the year. We did a 3-way brawl 50 point between me (Soviet), Wifey (US) and Son (German). It's more like an introduction game again for my son and a first time for my wife. Very basic setup and battlezone for fun play.

Intense battle happened, mostly between me being targeted by Wifey and Son (as usual). They tag-team bullying me until I lose my first tank before their alliance broke down. The German defeated first before I lose my final tank to my wife. She won (again!!!!)

As usual, the other 2 kids want to join the fun as well. So we played the game in the midst of yelling and crying :)

2) More boardgames

Yes, I'm still drown in my greed to acquire more boardgames and I DO NOT regret it (wink wink). I got these games after stumbled into a chance to get them at a decent price. Just received it last few days and yet to play. So excited to start playing these. I choose these type of game for visualization effect during gameplay with my wife and son. With miniatures in sight, the game will be more engaging and exciting to see rather than just holding cards during gameplay.

Looking forward for more games and play more games...wahahahaha!!!!

Till then guys.

Stay safe.

MCO Activities Update - 06

Hi guys,

It is not late for me to wish all my Muslim friends Salam Eid Mubarak, and Happy Holidays to all of you. Wishing all of us are in good health and staying strong during the pandemic situation.

Another hobbying update during the lockdown.

Playing games

Played another game last night using the solo rules. This time it was 75 points with German (myself) vs Soviet (AI).

German List
Tiger I + Precise Commander + Clever Hans
Panther + Precise Loader

Soviet List
IS-2 + Superb Commander + No Retreat
SU-100 + Vasily Krysov

German List

Soviet List

Battle location & initial positioning
The game was fun. The first 2 turns was a chase game as both side manoeuvring around for cover. No shot was fired until turn 3, but only start made some damages on turn 4. The IS-2 went down on turn 6 after Tiger I & Panther made a pincer attack from front and rear side of the tank, and got Lucky Hit at the end. The SU-100 was destroyed after a few hits by Tiger I & Panther and received Engine Fire critical damage when left with 1 HP. It was destroyed immediately although passed the Repair Phase. Both Tiger I & Panther left banged up but alive.

Here's are some photo's of the game:

It’s a good game playing with the AI system. I will try another game using 100 points later.

Clearing more backlog

As there are still more time before June, I went ahead and got working with another backlog set; the LBX's - Pandora & Nemesis.

So I've cleared yet another set of backlog kits. Now left with some odd kits & GW stuffs. Maybe need to find another time like this to get motivated to clear them.

Well then, see you guys later.
Stay safe :)

MCO Activities Update - 02

Hi guys.

More updates on hobbying activities during MCO period.

1) Playing games

So like everyone else during the lockdown, I'm itching to play some game. And due to the isolation, solo play is the only option for the time being. Luckily I found a copy of solo rules for TANKS in GF9 TANKS Fan Facebook group. Kudos to Jonathan Peace for the rules, it is simple enough for a game and not too hard for anyone to understand and play.

So for the game, I played a 50 points game with American (me) versus German (AI):

American List
1) Sherman 76 + Baby Richard
2) Sherman 75 + Best Job I Ever Had

German List
1) Panzer IV + Joseph-Wilhelm Rettermeier
2) Panzer IV

American List - 50 points

German List - 50 points

Battle location & initial formation
The solo rules - AI system

The Sherman 76 managed to killed the first Panzer IV after a few rounds of shooting, but then was killed by the second Panzer IV. However in Final Fury he managed to gave critical damage to the Panzer IV. I won with the Sherman 75 remaining as the second Panzer IV blew himself up as he failed his critical save.

Here are some photos of the games I managed to take:

It was a fun game. The AI system is easy and random enough for the German tanks to give some fight to the American tanks. Kudos again to Jonathan Peace for the rules. Definitely will play again later.

2) Clearing some backlog

So I managed to get to clear another Gundam backlog.

Keeping the momentum going!!!! Will be clearing all the backlog by MCO period ends, which means I can buy more. Wahahahaha!!!!

Until then.
Stay safe guys.
