Gaming in May

 Hi guys,

Hope all you are in good health.

The Covid cases in our place are increasing and we are now in Enhanced MCO for two weeks. Hopefully this can make the numbers going down. So guys, please adhere to SOP, always always wear mask when outside, use hand sanitiser, keep clean and stay safe.

So with all of us spending most our time indoors, these are the activities done in this month:

1) Building plamo

As my eldest son already built his first plamo..it just a matter of time for him to asked for a second ones. So this month he built another one, a SD Zaku.

2) Board gaming...and tabletop gaming also

This month we played several games, with emphasising to Warhammer Underworlds. It is a nice quick game where you can pit your warband with your opponent to get the most glory point. It is really a nice change for my wife as she used to play board games and now playing another tabletop game.

As usual, the boys cannot resist the temptation of throwing and rolling dice....and crashing their parent game date night.

Aside from WH Underworlds, we also played:

- King of Tokyo

- Train to Ride

- Dungeon Mayhem

- Uno

- Tokaido

We will try to get more play time for other board game and definitely will squeezed in some tabletop game in between.

So, until then.

Stay safe guys.

Hobbies in April

 Hi guys.

We meet again.

Currently the Covid situation here is becoming grim. Cases are spiking up left & right. Terrible way to celebrate the holiday season here.

So as the usual drill....keep social distancing, wear your mask, use the sanitizer, and always keep clean.

1) Plamo building

The first thing we've done in this month was my kid finally built his first plamo. I have a few collection of beginner sets kept for "future work"...so since he asked me if he can build one, of course I'll let him built one. The wife then joined in and the youngest kid also want to try. So I let them built. Of course the youngest one got my "assistance' to built his plamo.

My second son....well, he doesn't not have interest in this...yet.

2) Board gaming

This month I managed to squeeze in some time for playing games. We played Takenoko & Fruit Spy with my eldest son.

I purchased a boardgame (more like educational activity game) for the kids online. It is called Dr. Eureka but its in China languange. Not sure if it is a ripped off of an original game or not. The games it to arrange the "chemical balls" as per the card given using only the plastic tubes. My kids really having a blast playing this games. It is straight forward yet need to think how to re-arrange the balls. I really recommend this for your kids.

Unfortunately these few months I am quite busy with my work. My factory are perfroming test runs to all of the machineries before our full operation commissioing by end May. After that some finetuning work on the production line until stabilize....then only I will have my free time like previous.

So, until then.

Stay safe guys.

MCO Activities Recap

Hi guys.

Back to the work desk 😓
Started my work on 1st June as the government loosen up their CMCO restriction for some businesses. The bosses are dying to get the operation up & running again (we also feels the same).

Anyway, for 75 days of MCO from 18 March till 31st May, it was a well spent time for me personally. I got to spent my best bonding time with my kids, gave all my attention to the wife, having time to de-clutter my home, and obviously immersed myself in my hobby stuffs.

So, achievement during the lockdown:

1) Made myself a gaming table
2) Played some games (tabletop & board game)
3) Clearing backlog...well almost all

Not a big achievement if compared to other people, they sure did wayyyyyyy better than me. But still proud at myself for managed to get things done during the isolation period. Playing games are definitely the best part, not only I finally can quenched my dice rolling craving, but managed to made my wife appreciate all the "junks" (that's what she called them) that I have been stashing for a long time. To be able to see her enjoys beating her husband in board games sure made all of these worthwhile.

As a recap, these are the kits I've managed to build:

1) Gundam - HG BF Hi-Mock
2) Gundam - HG IBO Hyakuren
3) Gundam - HG-OO GN-X
4) Gundam - HG-OO GN-X III ESF Type
5) Gundam - HG-OO Exia
6) Gundam - HG IBO Barbatos Lupus Rex
7) LBX - Pandora
8) LBX - Nemesis

Hope I can keep the momentum and spirit going after this.
It is already in a good pace, and I really hope I can squeeze in my hobby time as the work have taken over my life again.
We'll see how things fare out in the future.
It is my 2020's resolution to keep my hobby alive.

Ending of my useless rant now.
Until next time guys.
Stay safe.

MCO Activities Update - 06

Hi guys,

It is not late for me to wish all my Muslim friends Salam Eid Mubarak, and Happy Holidays to all of you. Wishing all of us are in good health and staying strong during the pandemic situation.

Another hobbying update during the lockdown.

Playing games

Played another game last night using the solo rules. This time it was 75 points with German (myself) vs Soviet (AI).

German List
Tiger I + Precise Commander + Clever Hans
Panther + Precise Loader

Soviet List
IS-2 + Superb Commander + No Retreat
SU-100 + Vasily Krysov

German List

Soviet List

Battle location & initial positioning
The game was fun. The first 2 turns was a chase game as both side manoeuvring around for cover. No shot was fired until turn 3, but only start made some damages on turn 4. The IS-2 went down on turn 6 after Tiger I & Panther made a pincer attack from front and rear side of the tank, and got Lucky Hit at the end. The SU-100 was destroyed after a few hits by Tiger I & Panther and received Engine Fire critical damage when left with 1 HP. It was destroyed immediately although passed the Repair Phase. Both Tiger I & Panther left banged up but alive.

Here's are some photo's of the game:

It’s a good game playing with the AI system. I will try another game using 100 points later.

Clearing more backlog

As there are still more time before June, I went ahead and got working with another backlog set; the LBX's - Pandora & Nemesis.

So I've cleared yet another set of backlog kits. Now left with some odd kits & GW stuffs. Maybe need to find another time like this to get motivated to clear them.

Well then, see you guys later.
Stay safe :)
